How To Get Traffic To Your Spreadshirt or Cafepress Sites Using SEO
Here's a quick guide to help you bring a massive load of traffic to your Spreadshirt or Cafepress site through the search engines.
If you're not sure what Spreadshirt or Cafepress is, they're great companies that allow you to easily make and sell t-shirts. Cafepress will even allow you to make posters, mugs, and alot of other stuff.
To make your Spreadshirt or Cafepress website blend in with your own hosted site, some people will use frames.
For Search Engine Optimization (SEO), using frames is a no-no.
However, since your options are limited, here are some techniques that you can use to bring in free traffic to your Spreadshirt or Cafepress site.
- Do NOT link your hosted site (your domain) from your t-shirt site
- Instead, on your hosted site, create one-way links to your t-shirt site
(One way links have higher relevance in search engines, If they're on both [reciprocal links], the relevancy is less-which can reduce your rankings) - Create a blog around your t-shirt Spreadshirt/Cafepress theme with each article relatively linking to your t-shirt site (Highly Recommended)
- If your want to link to a framed page, use the <NOFRAMES> code below:
|
<HTML> |
Since search engines don't crawl framed sites so well, the <NOFRAMES> tag will provide relative keywords and a hyperlink to your t-shirt site. Don't dump a load of keywords into this area. This is a big no-no:)
As your can see, I intentionally left out the meta keyword tag (META NAME="Keywords"). I believe that using primary keywords in this tag will raise a red flag easier in the search engines. That's my opinion. Search engines will look at what's in your content to find relevant information.
I left the description meta tag intact. This will provide a short description within your search engine results.
