A Review of The Insider Secrets To Marketing Your Business On The Internet
Internet Marketing Center (IMC) - Insider Secrets Website
Rating: 10/10
The “Insider Secrets” course has been the most popular internet marketing course sold on the internet. Even if you asked Dan Kennedy, one of the most famous “offline” marketers, what internet marketing course he would suggest… it would be The Internet Marketing Center’s Insider Secrets course.
The strategies used in this course are responsible for over 54 million dollars in sales!
So what’s so special about this course?
Out of all the internet marketing courses that I’ve seen, this has got to be the most comprehensive one.
What’s also great about this course is that it is a true step-by-step course (it even has tabs labeled with steps).
Almost every traditional and non-traditional profit boosting internet marketing strategy is mentioned in this course.
Another thing I was surprised about was how huge it was. Even compared to my huge Amazon orders, the “Insider Secrets” course was the largest and heaviest internet marketing package that I’ve received so far.
In fact, it’s so huge that it took me several months just to go over and apply only 70% of the material in the 1st binder!
Derek Gehl, the current CEO of the company, even mentions in one of the included materials, that the course is quite overwhelming to many people.
Just like the old question goes… how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! The same thing applies to this course.
So whether you have a product, service, or no-product, the course starts you off from the very beginning (if you’re ahead of the game, you could skip around) and takes you through market analysis, website development, traffic building strategies, automation strategies, and more.
Another thing I noticed was that each step was like a whole focused book. If you took a look at the section on copywriting…that whole step could qualify as a full copywriting book.
What I like about the course is that Corey Rudhl (the late CEO and founder of the IMC), goes through various examples along the way that relate to each section. He goes through his old sites (like Car Secrets Revealed) and a lot of other successful sites that have used the course. Being able to see how other businesses layout their sites and how they’ve applied the principles in the book really helped.
The IMC also includes a bunch of resource CD’s. You get to find out more strategies on how to increase traffic to your website along with case studies of successful IMC students. These case studies are from IMC’s Secret’s of Their Success series. You’ll discover the niches the students built their businesses on, what strategies they used to successfully grow their businesses, along with the obstacles they ran across and how they’ve overcome them.
Also included is a quick start guide in paper and audio. So if you don’t have time to read all of the material yet, you can dive into the quick start guide and get the tools you need to catapult your business now!
Everything is layed out for you in an organized easy-to-follow manner. You just have to take action and apply the principles. If you just stick the course in your book collection, you’re not going to reap any success.
Okay…so I’ve mentioned a lot of hype! Yes…I know. It’s not to easy to review 1000+ pages of content.
So I’ll mention the things on my wish list for IMC’s Insider Secrets course:
So Derek, if you’re reading this… this is just constructive criticism…
I think that the keyword research section should be revised. Although KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) is better than not using any index at all, I don’t consider it the best indicator for a good niche. You could still end up with a high index number, but compete against millions of people. I don’t think that would be the best strategy. If you could find a niche that has low competition and a huge demand…that’s what I would focus on. Even though the course wants you to do that, the KEI shouldn’t be the total solution for determining this.
Also, I do think that the Pay-Per-Click section should be expanded a little. Although Google does have a lot of stuff in their help section, it’s not to easy to find out the strategies that will help you reduce the cost of your campaigns and avoid tons of money being lost through the learning curve.
…..okay, so far, that’s the stuff I didn’t agree with.
Just like anything in life, nothing is perfect.
So why did I give this course a perfect 10 still?
I totally believe that if you apply over 90% of the stuff in this course, you’re still going to make tons of money.
About Pay-Per-Click, it’s a whole course on it’s own. If you really wanted to learn more about AdWords (my personal favorite PPC), you should check out Campaign Blasts by Matt Levenhagen. It’s a whole scientific art that goes beyond the scope of the Insider Secrets course.
I give the highest recommendation for Insider Secrets. It really does provide all of the basic resources that somebody needs to succeed. Even though I mention “basic” there are many sites out there that have been around for years that still don’t apply the basics.
When it comes to successful selling online, the most important parts are a kick-butt sales page and getting tons of traffic to your site. There are so many different ways provided to do this and it doesn’t matter which way you choose.
It’s the results that matter.
