How To Offer Secure Digital Downloads (That Even Includes Affiliate Program Options)

A few months ago, I was looking for a low cost solution to sell digital downloads (eBooks, software…anything else downloadable) while including an affiliate program.

I could easily use only Paypal and have the site redirect to a hidden page with links.  The problem with this is that people can easily email the link to others to share.  Having secure downloads reduces file sharing.

There's some pretty popular services out there like Clickbank and Paydotcom that focus on digital products with affiliate programs, but they charge additional transaction fees.  I know that there's no free lunch, but add those on top of the Paypal fee's and that's less money for you.

While testing out a few services, I did find one that could offer secure downloads and an affiliate program. 

For a beginner account, they just charge 59 cents a month.  So even if you have 10000 sales in a month, it's still 59 cents.

You could open up your own shop on their server, use their payment structure through your own site, or use the service on eBay. 

For eBay listings, all you have to do is have the same title in their system as your listing title on eBay and it does the rest.   The system will email you and the buyer with a link that is time limited and includes a password to access the download.There was some trial and error learning involved, but the forum on their site helped a lot. 

They also have a lot of training videos to help you learn how to use their system.
