“I thought that David Watson Ripped Me Off…Now Let Me Reveal The Whole Truth…”

I purchased David Watson’s Website Content Wizard during the initial software launch. I was captivated after I saw David Watson’s 14 second solution. He was able to create 100′s of unique articles from 1 seed article. So what’s the big deal about this? Using Website Content Wizard, in seconds he had created tons of unique and readable pages (AKA search engine food).

The Benefits of Website Content Wizard

Here’s what this software is supposed to do:

  • Easily create tons of unique article variations (for article submissions or your website_)
  • Easily merge content from a spreadsheet into your articles
  • Easily grab content from Wikipedia
  • Easily grab content from the Public Domain
  • Reduce the time being spent on articles
  • Reduce money spent on ghostwriters
  • There a lot more that this software can do…but this is mostly what I use it for

The Basics of Spinning Articles?

When I first used article spinning software, it left a bad impression. Let me explain more…

I heard that this article spinning software would create articles that were unique. You might ask…”What’s the big deal about unique content?”

Imagine that you were creating a website on “spinning articles”. You listed a bunch of different softwares that were used to create unique content. Then you made 10 other sites with the same web content. Let’s say that all of those pages on each site were indexed and that you were able to get within the top 10 listings on Google. Each one of your sites were the actual top 10. Does this sound right?

Well it didn’t to Google and the other big search engines. So a duplicate content filter was placed. I’m not going to go on about how effective this filter is, but now I’m sure that you understand the importance of unique content…right?

How Lame Are Article Spinners?

Months before getting WCW, I tested out several article spinners. They either had master resell or public label rights. I didn’t spend any money on them. So what was my experience? Bluntly, I thought that they all sucked. They weren’t so user friendly, took up a lot of time, and created crappy content.

The main feature back then was synonym replacement. So the whole process was picking which synonyms that you would want to use for your new article. So if you had the word “spin” in your article, you might have other alternatives like twirl, whirl, twist, gyrate…and so on. If you just allowed the software to automatically create an content using the default (or auto selected synonym), “article spinning” might turn into “article gyrating”…which doesn’t seem right.

David Watson’s Website Content Wizard Solution

As I’ve mentioned, I was pretty much reeled into purchasing this article spinning software because of the 14 second spin he presented…as well as the limited time discount I got during the initial launch.

This software had:

  • Something called “auto-allocate” which allowed you to have synonym or phrase substitution
  • data merging
  • block capabilities
  • Content grabbing from Wikipedia and the public domain
  • Instructional videos
  • …and a lot more.

Where’s the Help?

Being a software expert:), I thought that I could easily use the software. I downloaded it, started it up and didn’t even know what to do. So then I watched the videos. At first, somethings went over my head. So I watched the videos again and tried out the software.

The first thing I used was the auto-allocate function. I tested it out on some PLR articles. It took me close to 30 minutes to rewrite an article. The most time consuming part of it was creating my own “personal thesaurus”.

I Thought I Wasted My Money

Well after toying around with this “personal thesaurus” stuff, I went to David Watson’s forum to figure out how to use the software more. What I found was a bunch of people confused as I. Questions were asked….but barely any answers were given. I had emailed David about the software and how he used it. It’s been months and he still never revealed what he did.

Months Passed…

Months had passed after purchasing the software…that I didn’t even use. One thing that bothers me is buying something and not using it. If you’ve been in internet marketing for a while…I’m sure you understand:) So I decided to return to the forum to see what was going on.

There Was Actually Solutions!

After all this time, there were people that figured it out on their own. So I started to read all the posts over the next few weeks and engaged in PM’s with some of the active forum members. I then understood how to use Website Content Wizard more and more as time went by.

My Final Impression of Website Content Wizard

After all this time of thinking that this software was a waste, I knew that it had power…and I finally discovered it. I knew that it wasn’t the software’s fault and that it was my own ignorance. Well…I’m not blaming myself since the support was pretty lousy.

Regardless of that, I’ve tested it out and have used the results that have come out of Website Content Wizard. It is true, you could create 1000′s of pages in seconds. …well, that’s part of the truth. The full truth is that is will take you several hours to create a project in order to generate all of those unique articles. Well that’s still more appealing than spending several months or a few years to write than many articles.

You might ask why have 1000′s of pages of the the same thing. If you’re doing article submissions, it’s pretty helpful from the search engines perspective if you have one way links going back to your site (backlinks) from unique content on other websites. This will help you increase your search engine positioning. In the past, submitting the same article to tons of article directories was a great idea. The effect of this has decreased and search engines want to see unique content. That’s were article spinning comes in.

Using more “Gray Hat” techniques, you could actually create a full website targeting various keywords that you want to optimize for.

Using the data merge function, you could actually create 1000′s of affiliate/merchant pages by using a datafeed file.

Those are some of the things that I’ve actually done to create some of my websites. Whether you take the white hat route or do something a bit on the gray/black side, you’ll find that Website Content Wizard can save you a lot of time and money.

*** January 2008 Update ***

After checking the forum, things have changed. Although David Watson still doesn’t provide much support, many of the WCW users are helping out each other on the forum. There is plenty of information to get started. Make sure that you read the recent posts as things have changed in the world of SEO.
